Indian Team Takes Second, Embassy International Riding School Shares the Glory!

Did nature or nurture lead him to create history for Indian Equestrian sport? 

 

 

Chasing his dream, Fauaad Mirza puts Indian Equestrian on the map, backed by the determination, enthusiasm and support from the chairman of the Embassy Group, Mr. Jitu Virvani and Ms. Silva Storai the director of the riding school. Though the odds are stacked against him at the Olympic level he is confident and happy to strive for India and compete despite the challenges! We wish him success and congratulate him as he collects his Arjuna Award on the National Sports Day from President Ram Nath Kovind on August 29-2019

 

Sunday August 26, 2018—Fouaad Mirza broke a decades-long dry spell for India Sunday by bringing home an equestrian individual medal in the Asian Games (Asiad) for the first time since 1982. Mirza also guided the Indian team to a second place overall finish.

Mirza showcased top-level riding skills in Jakarta while riding Seigneur Medicott, a former European Championship winning mount. Mirza led the event after qualifiers and only missed overall gold by nicking a single fence, dropping behind Japan’s Oiwa Yoshiaki.
